For Purim, I wanted to share, again, my easy vegan hamantaschen recipe. Besides eating hamantaschen, there’s lots of other food-related activities for the holiday, including giving gift baskets (mishloach manot). I wanted to share some tips for making healthier and more sustainable mishloach manot. Click below the break to read and share the great Netiya card with tips. The other mitzvah is to support poor people. You can fulfill this great mitzvah by supporting your local food pantry or soup kitchen.
Sarah, So happy to get this. I might move GIft for a friend into the green check column but otherwise will follow your advice. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you got my posted comment. It was so great to get this. I was afraid I had fallen off your list. Things are good. Busy but in a new way, in a profoundly good way-except for the fall of the republic of the US of A. I have had to put myself on a media diet- as it is so easy to spend all day reading and then rereading comment, think pieces, tweets about the string of outrages that litter the news cycle day in and day out. So hurtful.
I would love to know how you are, what are doing, what are reading?
Spring has come to LA. We went to the desert this weekend to see the wildflowers. They were beautiful after all the rain we have had it was a super-bloom. Now I just have to research what flowers we saw- pink, purple, white, orange, yellow- loved it.
Expecting people for lunch- my writers group. We try to meet once a month. Usually at a restaurant that lets us sit for three hours but today I am having them. Just three of us- two women and a man. I am writing short stories. A form I hadnt done until I stepped away from corporate life. I had one published in a literary journal and another will be published in June.
And here is a pic of Calder, my grandson who is 26 months old and so sweet and gives us such joy.
